Meeri-Maria Jaarva - Head, Black Sea and Central Asia
Meeri-Maria Jaarva is CMI’s Head of Black Sea and Central Asia. Ms Jaarva joined CMI in 2000 and has held different positions in the organisation, including Project Manager and Adviser in the Aceh peace negotiations, Adviser to the Personal Envoy of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for Central Asia, and Director of the Conflict Resolution Programme, among others. Ms Jaarva is currently serving as a member of the Steering Committees of the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO) and the Civil Society Conflict Prevention Network (KATU).

Roxana Cristescu - Adviser
Roxana Cristescu is an adviser at CMI working with the organisation’s mediation related activities. Ms. Cristescu leads on the implementation of a series of CMI projects in the South Caucasus and Moldova. Ms. Cristescu is also currently leading on a CMI project entitled “Creating Improved Capacities for International Peace Mediation”, which focuses on supporting the development of peace mediation capacities among Regional Organizations.

Mikheil Mirziashvili - Senior Project Manager
Mr. Mikheil (Misha) Mirziashvili is the Senior Manager of the Black Sea Peace Network project. The project aims at effective involvement of the civil society in the peacebuilding process through establishing self-ruling expert councils and, via regional approaches, strengthening local efforts for security peace in the region of the Black Sea.
Julia Melnik - Coordinator
Julia Melnik works as a Team Coordinator within CMI’s activities in the Black Sea and Central Asia region. Her duties include a wide range of supportive implementation of the projects.Marie-Charlotte Forgeron - Project Assistant
Marie-Charlotte works as an intern within CMI’s activities in the Black Sea and Central Asia region, with a special focus on the European Partnership for the Peaceful Settlement of the Conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh (EPNK) project.
She is completing her Master degree on Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding at the Institute of Political Studies of Lille in France.

Erno Miettinen - Project Assistant
Erno Tuomas Miettinen works as an intern within CMI’s activities in the Black Sea and Central Asia region. His special focus is on Moldova-Transdniestria mission and Black Sea Peacebuilding Network. Erno studied Contemporary History at the Department of Politics at the University of Turku.
Marina Danoyan - Coordinator, Black Sea and Central Asia
ON MATERNITY LEAVE
Marina Danoyan works as team coordinator within CMI’s activities in the Black Sea and Central Asia region. She supports the implementation of the programme in various ways, currently with a particular focus on the Kyrgyzstan Inquiry Commission.

Juha-Matti Seppänen - Project Manager
Juha-Matti Seppänen is the Project Manager for CMI's reintegration project in Afghanistan. He is responsible for initiating CMI’s presence and activities in Afghanistan, including budget management and coordination with project partners.

Enayat Najafizada - Analyst
Enayat Najafizada works as the Analyst for CMI's project "Dialogue on possibilities for conflict resolution in Afghanistan". He is currently responsible in identifying people from various different fields and interview them in order to test the CMI approach and identify issue and items to be discussed in the dialogue. He joined CMI in November 2011.
Denis Matveev - Adviser
Denis Matveev is an adviser to CMI’s Black Sea and Central Asia projects. He is an international consultant, trainer and facilitator in the fields of peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Denis has worked with NGOs, governments/authorities and intergovernmental organisations in Moldova-Transdniestria, Ukraine (Crimea), Georgia-Abkhazia, Romania, Sri Lanka and the UK.
