Suvi Tuominen - Project Manager

Suvi Tuominen works as a project manager for two projects focusing on mediation capacity building in Africa. These projects are “The AU mediation support capacity project” and “Improving West African Capacities in Mediation and Peace Processes.  Her responsibilities include overall project and budget management and coordination.

Prior joining CMI, Suvi has worked for Nokia Research Centre Africa in Nairobi Kenya, where she did research on the use of ICT for development.  She has also worked for CMI before, assisting the CMI’s Governance out of a Box- initiative.  Suvi has also gained experience by working as an intern at the Finnish permanent mission to the United Nations in New York, as well as at the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, in the Middle East peace process team.

Suvi holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Development Studies  from the University of Helsinki. She has also studied Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
