ON MATERNITY LEAVE

Anna Elfving-Gomes serves as Adviser to President Ahtisaari, advising and supporting him in his various activities, with a particular focus on Indonesia, youth employment and the promotion of a Finland with two living national languages.

Prior to rejoining CMI, Anna worked as Program Manager for ImagineNations Group, a global alliance working to empower young adults with opportunities and employment (2007-2010). Previously, Anna worked as Special Assistant to President Ahtisaari at the United Nations Office of the Special Envoy for the future status process for Kosovo (2005-2007) and as his Special Assistant at Crisis Management Initiative during the time of the Aceh Peace Process (2004-2005).

Anna holds a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a BSc in Political Sciences from the University of Helsinki.
