Annika Söder

Annika Söder is Under Secretary-General the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in charge of FAO’s Office of UN Coordination and Millennium Development Goals Follow-up. Annika Söder studied journalism at Stockholm University. She started to work with the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1982. In 1994 she became the Head of the Foreign Minster´s Office. She was a Foreign Policy Advisor at the Swedish Prime Minister´s office (1995) and Spokesperson and Head of Press and Information Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1996-2000). She was the ambassador for the IGC-negotiations (2000) and on EU Affairs (2001). From 2001 to 2002 she was Director General for Development Cooperation and Deputy Director for Development Cooperation in 2002. She became Swedish State Secretary for Development Cooperation in 2002.
