Johnny Åkerholm has gained long-term experience within the international finance and banking sectors. He has held significant positions of trust within the financial sector of the European Union and Nordic countries.

Member of Board since 2008.

Licentiate in Political Science (Economics), University of Helsinki.
Master of Economic Sciences, Swedish School of Economics, Helsinki.

Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, 2003-2005.

Under-Secretary of State for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance in Finland, 1995-2003.

From 1982 to 1995 Mr. Åkerholm held various managerial positions at the Bank of Finland, most recently as Head of the Economics Department.

President of the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union.
President of the Nordic-Baltic Monetary and Financial Committee.
Chairman of the Inter-institutional Monitoring Group for financial services.
